The Chairman and Committee of Chapter 208 invite you to an important regional briefing. These briefings are designed to engage with those members who may find it difficult to travel to other seminars, which are held more centrally, and to introduce prospective members to ASIS International.

These briefing sessions will, I am sure, be highly useful and informative to those professions engaged in security risk management. We believe the agenda that has been put together by the organising team will stimulate valuable debate with those who are able to attend.

SPEAKERS

John Dwyer

John retired as Assistant Chief Constable of the Cheshire Constabulary in 2001 after a 30-year police career. He is the holder of a BA Degree in Management, a Fellow of the Chartered  Management Institute and is a life member of The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).

He has managed the whole spectrum of police enquiries from the mundane to the very serious including murder and terrorist incidents. His approach is to address the processes as well as the physical security needs of companies to ensure that criminals are thwarted both inside and outside the organisation.

During his service with the West Midlands Police he established and managed the first UK Police Regional Air Operations Unit.

During 2003 he identified a need for businesses to have access to reputable and honest

investigators and security advisers to protect them. He has now developed a network of over 400 retired police officers across the UK. He is the Managing Director of Zeon Business Protection Services (Zeon BPS).

David Maddock

David Maddock is a Chartered Builder, a Chartered Health and Safety Consultant and is a Registered CDM Co-ordinator with the Association for Project Safety. David has 30 years’ experience in the construction industry working in design, project management and procurement of new building and refurbishment schemes.

A career combining major project management and the design and installation of safety systems as a specialist contactor has identified how important it is to address specification issues at the early the stages of a project thus enabling extremely cost effect solutions to be “designed in”. Addressing safety and security issues at the early stages of the design process is critical to a successful and cost effective outcome. David is Managing Director of IHS Limited.

Anna Cutts

Anna is an experienced business analyst holding a degree in Computer Science and with a track record of achieving project implementations and delivering strong business benefits and cost savings. She has abilities to identify problems and offer practical solutions through an in-depth understanding of processes and the full project lifecycle. Anna runs her own company Redstart Consulting Limited.

Janet Ward
