“We are providing ongoing support and counselling to colleagues in Iraq who are doing a fantastic job of servicing our clients despite the emotion and sadness of losing two very special colleagues who will be greatly missed. “At present, we are unable to comment on any information relating to Daniel Fitzsimons, due to the ongoing investigation, suffice to say we have offered our full support to the Iraqi authorities. Specifically this has included regular meetings with the Iraqi investigating team, unhindered access to the scene of crime, and liaison between and with the various international agencies monitoring this case. We will continue to offer this support for as long as the Iraqi authorities request it.
“At the same time we are conducting our own internal investigation into the circumstances which took place in the lead up to the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning. If any recommendations for improving our processes are made as a result of the current investigations then we will ensure that they are implemented without delay.”
