Armed robbers stole cash from a man making a cash delivery at a garage in Mottram...

At about 10.45am on Monday 19 April 2010, offenders drove up to the Texaco garage on Hyde Road (A57) in a stolen white Ford Transit van.

Two offenders got out and approached a security guard who was making a cash delivery.

They marched him into the garage shop before stealing money and the security guard's box and drove off in the van, which was driven by a third man.

No-one was hurt in the incident but the security guard was left shocked.

The first offender is described as white, about 5ft 11in tall with blue eyes and wearing Umbro waterproof trousers and an Umbro waterproof jacket with a yellow high visibility jacket over the top.

The second offender was 5ft 6in tall with a stocky build and wearing dark trousers and a high vis jacket.

The third offender was mixed race. All offenders men wore balaclavas.

The Transit van is believed to have been parked on Cranbourne Road, Mottram, up to a week before the robbery. Officers now want to hear from anyone who may have seen the van with the following false plates, PN54 ZDT, in the build-up to the robbery.

Detective Sergeant Peter Stubbs, of Ashton CID, said: "This happened on a very busy stretch of road so I am confident that a passerby would have seen something.

"No-one was physically injured, but the victims will no doubt have mental scars from this.

"I want to reassure everyone that we are doing all we can to catch these robbers."
