Doorman Narrowly Escapes Burning Liquid Date: Wednesday, March 10, 2010 |
At 10pm on Saturday 20 February 2010, a man approached door staff outside Courtney's Bar on Bradshawgate, after being ejected from the club. He threw a container of flammable liquid that had been set on fire at a member of the door staff. Fortunately, the liquid extinguished itself mid-flight before the container struck the doorman on the back and he received no injuries. The offender is around 6ft tall, between 20-25 years old, with short-cropped hair. He had pock-marked cheeks and wore a burnt orange t-shirt with a shiny design on the front. He also wore a shiny brown jacket and dark blue jeans. Detective Constable Jamie Gillespie said: "Luckily nobody was injured during this attack but this man could have seriously injured someone. "He has been taken out of the club and has then taken it upon himself to get revenge. "We need your help to identify this man so we can bring him to justice." If you have any information, please contact Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050 or the independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
