Ex-Senior Police Officer Tops Conference Bill Date: Monday, June 07, 2010 |
The police officer who was responsible for co-ordinating the response to the London bombings of 2005 is leading a programme of high-profile speakers at an event this week. Alan Brown, who was the Gold Commander for the Met during the terrorist atrocities of 7/7 and who now holds a senior position within a major supermarket chain, is addressing the CSARN Crisis Leadership Conference at the BT Centre in London on June 11. Brown, who joined the police in 1974, also served in Territorial Policing, Specialist Operations and the Serious Crime Directorate. He spent most of his career in CID. In addition the senior officer was Chair of the National Firearms Intelligence Database Working Group and was the ACPO lead on hostage negotiation.
