In commenting on his appointment Mike said
“I feel privileged and honoured to be leading the Institute, which has established itself at the forefront of the UK security sector. We have a strong and dynamic Board of Directors including 3 new Directors, who bring additional skill sets and ideas. Over the coming months we will be focussing on growth and development, and looking at increased engagement in developing security sector standards and publications. We will also be strengthening links with other security bodies and organisations. I look forward to tackling the challenges that lie ahead and continuing to serve the Institute in my new role.”
Outgoing Chairman Bill Wyllie said
"I am delighted to be handing over as Chairman to Mike Bluestone. Mike is a first-rate security professional who has enormous credibility amongst his peers, and he has established a strong reputation for seeking to drive forward standards, gained both during his time on the Board of the International Institute of Security and on the Security Institute Board. I look forward to seeing the Institute prosper and expand under Mike's charismatic leadership.”
