Peter Sheppard, Operational Training Officer of G4S Cash Services (UK) Ltd was one of the first delegates to successfully achieve the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (City & Guilds 7303) Level 4 qualification through Skills for Security, alongside employees from Chamber Training and Legion Group, The Level 4 qualification is a grade higher than the minimum qualification required to teach for licensing purposes.

Peter Sheppard, of G4S Cash Services comments, “I decided to attempt level four as I wanted to push myself just a little bit further and harder than I really needed to in order to make the achievement just that little bit more worthwhile for me personally. This benefits my organisation as I am able to demonstrate a depth of understanding and knowledge of more than just subject matter when it comes to preparing to teach, and delivering a learning experience - as is the whole training team at G4S Cash Services. We all have 7302 and/or 7303, and those of us who don't are working on it. This aligns itself perfectly with the core values of this organisation. “

Trevor Rathbone, the Skills for Security tutor for the Level 4 qualification, adds, ”Delegates on this course showed real determination to not only achieve the City and Guilds 7303, but to pass it to the highest level available to them., I was delighted to support their enthusiasm and determination, and was able to work closely with the delegates, helping them achieve their personal goals.“

David Greer, Chief Executive of Skills for Security commented “Whilst those holding Level 3 training qualifications are not required to “upgrade” to Level 4, Skills for Security strongly
supports the LLUK position that it is best practice to keep knowledge and skills current and relevant through formal continuous professional development (CPD) activity. . It is extremely pleasing to witness that organisations are raising the skill levels of their employees and striving for higher standards. Congratulations to all those that have achieved this qualification.”

Skills for Security offers both a four day course to achieve the 7303 qualification or a one day workshop for trainers who have already achieved the City & Guilds 7302 and now wish to upgrade to the 7303 at either Level 3 or Level 4.
