Rooney Prostitute Scandal To See Increased Security For Game

Police may step up security when Wayne Rooney returns to Goodison Park on Saturday to face his former club Everton.

The Premier League clash will be his first UK match since revelations about his alleged fling with vice girl Jenny Thompson.

Boyhood Evertonian Rooney has received abuse from Blues fans since his £27million transfer to Old Trafford in 2004. And chants about his alleged activities with the hooker are likely to feature at the game.

Police and stewards at the ground will be made aware of the situation but the Merseyside force will not employ extra officers at the stadium unless they are made aware of a specific threat to Rooney.

A police spokesman said: "It is a normal category A match and the usual presence will be in attendance unless we learn of some sort of threat against a player."

Despite the abuse he receives at the hands of some Everton supporters, Rooney claims he is still a Blue at heart.

And he has said in the past: "I still want Everton to do well. I've said before I'd love them to finish second in the league to us."
