Van Raid Scene Visit 'Worthwhile'

Police are investigating a number of lines of inquiry following their return to the scene of a security van raid in Cumbria a week ago.

A guard was attacked with a machete and tens of thousands of pounds stolen by a four-man gang at Carlisle's Rosehill Industrial Estate on 10 January.

Officers patrolled the estate on Thursday night aiming to jog the memory of people who regularly visit the area.

The operation lasted until 2300 GMT and was described as "very worthwhile".

DCI Andy Slattery said: "Officers spoke to dozens of people and from that a number of interesting lines of inquiry have come up.
