Redline Aviation Security Ltd (RAS) has been awarded preferred supplier status by BAA for the provision of General Security Awareness Training (GSAT) by computer based training (CBT). BAA invited Department for Transport (DfT) accredited trainers to tender for the contract following the recent introduction of this mandatory security training for all personnel requiring access to the Restricted Zone (RZ) of an airport.

This contract will involve providing a GSAT CBT programme which complements the existing GSAT classroom programme currently in place for BAA employees. Provision of this training will commence initially at Heathrow Airport in the coming months.

Talking from their offices in The National Aviation Academy, Robin Hood Airport, Mr Paul Mason, Director of Redline, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious contract from the world’s leading airport company. We look forward to working with BAA".

The Redline GSAT package is powered by Quadratica (UK), the country’s leading provider of CBT. Redline is a DfT accredited training provider and is the only company in the industry that has been accredited to provide both aviation security managers’ courses and recognition of firearms and explosives (RFX) refresher training. Mark Rawson, who leads the Redline RFX team, added: “The RFX Instructors’ course is also firmly within our sights and the team is working hard to produce the quality and innovation that is demanded by the DfT.”
