Bill Wyllie - BA CPP FSyI FIS(SA)

Bill is a former Intelligence Corps officer with extensive commercial experience in the Middle East. An Arabic interpreter, he moved into international consultancy, before becoming the Chief Security Adviser at the Bank of England. Bill is now a private consultant and advises specialist companies. He is the immediate past chairman of The Security Institute, and the author of the books The Millennium Security Manager and A Guide to Security Surveys.

David Cresswell MSc CPP MSyIl

David is Director of Training at the ARC International Academy for Security Management, training security managers from many of the biggest companies in the world to manage complex security risk challenges. He is a Chairman of the ASIS UK Chapter Professional Development Committee, Council member of the Security Institute, visiting lecturer in criminology at Middlesex University and an external marker on the Leicester University MSc in Security and Risk Management. David speaks Arabic and Russian.

Mike Hurst FREC, MsyI

Mike is a director of specialist recruitment consultants HJA Fire and Security and has been recruiting in the industry for 16 years. Prior to that he was General Manager of a specialist Fire Protection contractor. He is a Fellow of the Recruitment and Employment Consultants (FREC) and a Member of The Security Institute (MSyI) where he sits on the Verification Board. He has been a member of the UK Chapter of ASIS International for over 9 years and has been on the committee for about 6, where is is responsible for Media (which includes Editing the Newsletter, The Blog and the Web site).

Peter French - FSyI, CPP

Peter is the Chief Executive of SSR Personnel, is engaged in permanent recruitment , contract & interim hire of personnel in the security, fire , health and safety sectors. He is Master, Principle Founding Member and Trustee of the Company of Security Professionals. Peter is the ASIS International Senior Regional Vice President in Europe, a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and one of 50 European members of the International Security Management Association (ISMA). He is also Deputy Chairman of the London Board of the Crimestoppers Charity.

John Geddes

John Geddes is a highly respected ex SAS Warrant Officer and former member of 2 Para (Parachute Regiment). A highly trained soldier and security expert, Mr Geddes spent ten years with the Parachute Regiment and thirteen years with 22 Regiment SAS. After leaving the SAS, Geddes spent 18 months as a private security contractor in war torn Iraq.

After leaving Iraq, Geddes formed a leading British security company, Ronin Concepts Ltd, specialising in broad spectrum security strategies and training. John Geddes has two books under his belt, Highway to Hell and Spearhead Assault.

Justin Bentley

Justin is the Deputy International Chairman of the International Professional Security Association (IPSA), where he is responsible for publications, British Standards advice and general promotion of IPSA.
He has worked in the security industry since 1994, until recently as Managing Director of a guarding company and is now working as a consultant. He has had articles on various security related issues published.

Robert Thompson

Robert is currently an Investigative Security Consultant with a specialist security company. Richard Hewetson MSyI CPP

Richard is former Parachute Regiment and Royal Military Police Close Protection Unit and has 18 Years of Military, Government & Commercial CP experience. Richard produced a comprehensive critique report to the Home Office, Cabinet Office and the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of the Security Industry Authority and their stipulated operational skills and training standards for the licensing of a Close Protection Operative in the United Kingdom and directs and leads CP operations throughout the world.

Andy Walker

Andy is a former civilian police officer and qualified SIA licensing trainer using the NOCN qualification.

Professor Martin Gill

Martin Gill is Director of Perpetuity Research and Consultancy International (PRCI) and a Professor of Criminology at the University of Leicester. PRCI specialises in the areas of security management, risk management, crime and crime prevention. Professor Gill is a Fellow of The Security Institute, a member of the Company of Security Professionals, Chair of the ASIS Research Council and editor of a new ASIS Series called Current Research in Security Practice (CRISP). He is co-editor of the Security Journal and founding editor of Risk Management: an International Journal.

Emma, a former service police officer and UK Government official, is the MD of Esoteric Ltd, a specialist covert investigations company - a provider of confidential services, assisting clients to deal with theft, fraud, counterfeiting, employment issues, economic & corporate espionage and critical information protection. She is a member of the Council and Validation Board for The Security Institute, Southern Region Chair for the Defence Industry Security Association (DISA), and Assistant Regional Vice President to ASIS Europe.

Del Hunter - FREC, FISMM, MCIPD, MBPS

Del is Director of Performance at Specialist Recruitment Firm SSR. Charles Skinner

Charles enjoyed a long and distinguished career with the Royal Military Police Close Protection Unit. He is now an Associate Director for Janusian Security Risk Management and is responsible for designing and implementing emergency evacuation plans, security surveys and security training courses (personal safety, residential security, travel security, defensive driving and hostage survival) for diplomats and other governmental agencies working in high risk countries.

Stefan Hay FSyI

Stefan Hay is Head of the Fire and Security Association (FSA), the largest representative body for the Fire and Security Systems sector in the UK. Stefan is a Fellow of the Security Institute and his previous roles include Director of Business Development and Communication at Skills for Security, Deputy Chief Executive of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and Managing Director of its training subsidiary, the Security Industry Training Organisation (SITO), until it was incorporated into Skills for Security in 2006. He joined SITO in 1998 as Contract and Development Manager, having embarked on his career in the private security industry as an Area Operations Manager at Firm Security Group Ltd in 1992. Before that, Stefan was an officer in the Merchant Navy.

He has written more than a hundred published articles on fire and security industry related subjects.

Steve Collins
