Bill
is a former Intelligence Corps officer with extensive commercial
experience in the Middle East. Fluent in Arabic, he moved into
international consultancy, before becoming the Chief Security Adviser at
the Bank of England.
Bill is now a private consultant and advises specialist
companies. He is the current chairman of The Security Institute, and the
author of the books The Millennium

John Geddes is a highly respected ex
SAS Warrant Officer and former member of 2 Para (Parachute Regiment). A

the Parachute Regiment and thirteen years with 22 Regiment SAS. After
leaving the SAS, Geddes spent 18 months as a private security contractor
in war torn Iraq.

operational skills and training standards for the licensing of a Close
Protection Operative in the United Kingdom and directs and leads CP

Martin Gill is Director of Perpetuity Research and
Consultancy International (PRCI) and a Professor of Criminology at the
University of Leicester. PRCI specialises in the areas of security

Security Professionals, Chair of the ASIS Research Council and editor of
a new ASIS Series called Current Research in Security Practice (CRISP).

survival) for diplomats and other governmental agencies working in high risk countries.

Stefan Hay is Head of the Fire and Security Association (FSA), the largest representative body for the Fire and Security Systems sector in the UK. Stefan is a Fellow of the Security Institute and his previous roles include Director of Business Development and Communication at Skills for Security, Deputy Chief Executive of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and Managing Director of its training subsidiary, the Security Industry Training Organisation (SITO), until it was incorporated into Skills for Security in 2006. He joined SITO in 1998 as Contract and Development Manager, having embarked on his career in the private security industry as an Area Operations Manager at Firm Security Group Ltd in 1992. Before that, Stefan was an officer in the Merchant Navy.

Steve Collins is the CEO of PS5, an internationally acclaimed security related

Chris Hovey spent 12 years in the British Army, serving in both Commando and Special Forces, followed by 18 years in the Police, working in uniform and CID departments.
A secondment to the FCO in 2003 involved the training of Iraqi Police officers in Jordan.
Commercial tasks in a hostile environment include working on a close protection team in Baghdad and in addition on a security management and fire risk project in Iraq.
