Hi all, have just been reading in paper about a scam going on against security guards, hundreds of job seekers have paid £50 for a criminal record check top clinch a job that does not exist. Many turned up for their first day of work as a a security guard at the London offices trades union congress only to be told they'd been slammed. Guards force security ltd, the firm offering supposed jobs,
these crooks are using the same 0845 number, have pulled the same trick using fake company names such as all site service ltd in Edinburgh and eagle security ltd in cardiff.

That was my predicament when I commenced working. They promised me $12.00 an hr to start but i experienced been only producing $9.00 when I obtained my very first check. The SIA is the worst organisation I have ever come across. They have gone from one extreme to another. From giving badges to anyone free with corn flakes, to making it so hard it takes 3-4 attempts at filling a form out correctly. A full stop in the wrong place and Miss Jobsworth cancels it and does her nails.

In this industry we have people who could not provide a 10 year, or even a 5 year checkable work history, they cannot speak English, or have accents so heavy they cannot even answer a phone.  Clients have screamed blue murder at the company because good communications is a very necessary requirement. And yet, at the opposite end, we have indigeneous English people, born and bred here, who cannot get a licence because the form has a typographical error. Who filled in the foreigners form, there is no way they could have done it, therefore fraudulently completed.

I tried to do a renewal online and it became a 5 month nightmare. Its impossible to make an error they said, rubbish! FIVE times I had to start again because the form could not be reopened due to some glitch in the system, hence a complete restart. Then my passwords refused to work!!

When an officer has a badge already - he is correctly in the system - there is no need to have to complete the whole thing again. All he has to do is certify that there have been no changes to the previous successful application, and pay the exorbitant fee (which was supposedly free after issue one).

Come into the real world SIA and stop being Miss Jobsworth. You are screwing with peoples, their homes, families, dependants, lives! Your problem is you are unelected busy bodies.
