just looking at replies with regards to the subject. Most are saying enough is enough, well ok yes but its been like this for many many many years now. CVIT teams are at risk, period. No offence, but some say about being armoured. A baton, spray etc. Well is that the answer,to me know. The gangs etc who target the CVIT crews are pretty selective and they do there homework, conducting recce's and for periods of weeks and yes months.
An example,I live in a small town in Hampshire, I see a G4S CVIT wagon Parked at the top of town, the guard,a rather large guy and I don't mean tall, walking right the way through town a good few hundred meters away from the CVIT vehicle "ON HIS OWN" carrying his box. I ask WHY. No back up,he has nothing and crews wonder why things go pete tong.
The simular thing happened at a supermarket not to far again, the CVIT crew got smashed and crew members injuired. Not disrespecting any CVIT crew member here, but its time that companies looked at employing more asset protection teams to aid these teams on the ground so to speak. As most will be from a military background and more than likely have CP training and unarmed an armed combat skills. And I'm sorry but this really does need looking at more. And yes I'm aware that asset P teams are used in the larger city area's, but in the smaller less obtrusive area's they are not. At least the CVIT crews then now they have some form of back up if required.
